May is the second-busiest month of our year, behind only December. Graduation weekends stack up the same way prom does — every school in the metro finishing within days of each other, and every family wanting the same evening. It is the one season where booking early genuinely decides whether you get the vehicle you wanted.
What graduation night usually looks like
Four hours is the typical booking in our spring season. That is usually enough for photographs at the house, dinner somewhere the group has been looking forward to, and a run downtown afterwards. The evenings we drive most often end around the Power & Light District, the T-Mobile Center, or one of the downtown hotels — Loews and the Marriott come up again and again on our spring runs.
Time starts at the first pickup and stops at the last drop-off, so the clock is not running while everyone is still taking pictures on the driveway.
Which vehicle suits a graduation group
For a family and a few friends, the Chrysler 300 stretch is the vehicle we book most in May and June. For a whole class group, the limo coaches carry 18 to 20 and the mini coaches 27, with the party bus at 31 when the whole year wants to travel together. Parents often book an Escalade or the Yukon Denali for the family and a coach for the students — that combination runs constantly in our spring bookings.
Book graduation dates early
Kansas City schools graduate on overlapping dates, which means the same two or three evenings carry most of the season. We hold those nights months ahead.
